“This lake exceeds anything I ever beheld in beauty" once wrote the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. No other words can describe better this blissful place, coated with charm and romance. The main attraction is the lake itself, shaped like an upside down Y, with the charming village of Bellagio at the Y intersection. Whether you go for a vintage boat or just jump on a public ferry, a tour on the lake is mandatory. The view from the lake at the numerous villas that line the shores of the lake is captivating:
Villa Balbianello, dating back to 17th C, with the beautiful gardens, Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi and Villa La Quiete among the others.
Lake Como is also a golfer’s paradise with some of the best Italian courses a short driving distance from the lake’s shores. Among them there is a special course, one of the oldest in Europe and with a true Old English flair you won’t easily find elsewhere in Italy.
The club is named Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club lies in a plateau overlooking Menaggio and Tremezzo, close distance from the Swiss border.
